English Speaking Jobs in Taiwan
English speaking jobs in Taiwan? Taiwan places great emphasis on English learning and parents send their children to English schools from a very early age. No matter what time of the year you look for jobs, English teachers are always wanted. What is it like to be an English teacher in Taiwan today? Some teachers pick Taiwan over other countries to teach in because of how easy it is and the requirements to be a teacher aren’t that strict or difficult. It isn’t always work with easy money, but it is possible to make fairly good money teaching in Taiwan.
Cram schools are where the majority of foreign English teachers are employed. These schools cater classes to children as parents send their children to English classes at a very early age. Six to twelve is how old most of the children at in these classes. Due to this, the books and classes aren’t too difficult and are usually at a low level. This doesn’t mean there aren’t any jobs to teach adults, the majority of work in Taiwan for English teachers is teaching children.
Almost anyone wanting to teach English will be able to meet the simple requirements. A Bachelor’s degree is a requirement to teach English and you need to come from a country where English is the native language. So if you come from Canada, the United Kingdom, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa you already meet this requirement.
If you are looking for English speaking jobs in Taiwan, then the good news is that almost anyone can teach English in Taiwan today. Provided you have a recognized three or four year Bachelor’s degree and coming from an English speaking country listed above you won’t have much trouble finding work.

”Do you speak alien?” The ups and downs of a Spanish language preschool program. $49.99 Why should English speaking preschool children learn a second language? The lack of foreign language education in American schools puts English speaking students at a disadvantage in an ever-globalizing world. The Deacon Park Preschool (DPP), in Atlanta, Georgia, established a foreign language (L2) Spanish program in 2003 designed to provide cultural and linguistic sensitivity and awareness. This thesis is a community based applied/action case study of the L2 preschool program that is informed by the researcher’s creation and implementation of the integrated Montessori inspired, naturalistic, fifteen-month program in 2003-2004. This study evaluates the current Spanish program (2007) and explores the sustainability of the previously implemented L2 teaching/learning approach. Data was collected through applied anthropological qualitative methods including field observations and in-depth interviews with teachers, parents, and the director of the DPP. Findings address the paucity of research that focuses specifically on teaching a L2 to preschool students and provide a recommendation for future improvements. Research from this topic addresses issues of program development and sustainability for foreign language programs with limited resources. By providing an evaluation of one innovative approach for second language learning, this work adds to both the theory and practice of creating and sustaining second language enrichment programs for majority language students that can be adapted and applied at other locations. |

The Deacon Park Preschool (DPP), in Atlanta, Georgia, established a foreign language (L2) Spanish program in 2003 designed to provide cultural and linguistic sensitivity and awareness. This thesis is a community based applied/action case study of the L2 preschool program that is informed by the researcher’s creation and implementation of the integrated Montessori inspired, naturalistic, fifteen-month program in 2003-2004. This study evaluates the current Spanish program (2007) and explores the sustainability of the previously implemented L2 teaching/learning approach. Data was collected through applied anthropological qualitative methods including field observations and in-depth interviews with teachers, parents, and the director of the DPP. Findings address the paucity of research that focuses specifically on teaching a L2 to preschool students and provide a recommendation for future improvements. Research from this topic addresses issues of program development and sustainability for foreign language programs with limited resources. By providing an evaluation of one innovative approach for second language learning, this work adds to both the theory and practice of creating and sustaining second language enrichment programs for majority language students that can be adapted and applied at other locations. |
